Paramedic and cyclist Steve Evans (aka @paramedicsteve on twitter) put together a set of slides aimed at cyclists to increase awareness about basic first aid when out cycling. First aid courses typically cover the worplace environment and tend to focus on typical office environment hazards but this is quite different. I think any cyclists, clubs and groups of cyclists alike would benefit from having a look through those slides. Feel free to pass the presentation around. Copyright is Steve’s but he’s keen to have it distributed as broadly as possible.

PS: I know… I have already posted this on the Lune RCC website but different audiences etc… :-)

Let’s face it, indoors training is boring. well, unless you are with a well set training plan, it doesn’t exactly fill me with great enthusiasm. But in these winter months getting on the turbo/rollers indoors has its advantages… no bike to clean, warmth, no junk miles… An almost necessary evil.
The Sufferfest training video collection has been growing steadily. Downward spiral, Fight Club… Revolver… and now Angels (and soon the Hunted!). Get the whole lot.
Angels complements the other sufferfest videos pretty well, this one simulating over-and-under threshold intervals. The music, video and cues are spot on. If these do no motivate you throughout the session. 100% guarantee of sweat, suffering and perverse sense of satisfaction.
I found that Angels is suitable for workouts on rollers and other torture devices also known as turbo trainers.
