It makes perfect sense… ;-)

Paramedic and cyclist Steve Evans (aka @paramedicsteve on twitter) put together a set of slides aimed at cyclists to increase awareness about basic first aid when out cycling. First aid courses typically cover the worplace environment and tend to focus on typical office environment hazards but this is quite different. I think any cyclists, clubs and groups of cyclists alike would benefit from having a look through those slides. Feel free to pass the presentation around. Copyright is Steve’s but he’s keen to have it distributed as broadly as possible.
Nic
PS: I know… I have already posted this on the Lune RCC website but different audiences etc… :-)

Hindsight is a wonderful thing, eh? I shouldn’t have sold our first daughter and should have kept it to pass it on to her sister. Alice’s birthday is coming up soon. She’ll be starting to go to the local Go-Ride club (Salt Ayre Cog Set) and she is in need of a new bike. Second-hand would do. If you or know anybody willing to sell an Islabike Beinn 20 (small frame), let me know (nicolas.bertrand_at_gmail.com or on twitter @nichbuick). Thank you!
Just forget about me expressing regrets selling my eldest’s Beinn 20 :-)

Thanks my good friend Huy for pointing me in this direction. As it turns out I had been discussing such trip a Lancaster to Avignon with my better half.

11 days? probably a little too long. 2 days to get to Oxford then 6 days to reach Avignon would be an attractive proposition.
(you can tell I am starved off my bike right now. 3 days left…)

Another good turnout for a planned classic loop over the Trough, Bowland Knotts, Clapham, Ingleton and back.
Bad luck to @agnew63 who sheared his rear mech on a cattle grid. I tell you what, cattle grids around the forest of Bowland are vicious.
The group further split after the trough. Most people opting for what I believe would be a steadier, flatter route back to Lancaster though Longridge. That left me, Julian, Settle boy Sandy and Neil to motor it home past Newton, Slaidburn, Bowland Knotts. Sandy carried on home to Clapham (he’d ridden from Clapham to Lancaster). Neil, Julian and I turned towards Bentham, Wray and Caton. Despite the variation from the original planned route, it was a great ride. Legs feeling good. No cafe stop for three Sundays in a row. Get in!
